Empowering young people to reimagine & co-design the Appalachia of our future.
Action Steps
We have a pretty big goal.
Here are the pretty big steps we’re taking to reach it.
-
We’re hosting town hall-style meetings across the community to lead discussions about what it means to be Appalachian and which skills are considered important to the future of our region. Our partners analyze data and provide a report we can use to inform project design and discussions across the region.
-
We’re developing community-engaged learning experiences that align with state standards and XQ Competencies. These LXs are designed to be easily altered to fit different schools across the region.
-
We’re attending and hosting conferences and Communities of Practice across the region to promote resources and build further partnerships with schools and communities. This includes creating training materials and guides to help communities lead their own conversations and sustain this work.
-
We’re using data to advocate at the state and national levels for policy changes that align with the XQ State Policy Report, demonstrating what is possible when schools prioritize innovation.
Let’s Collaborate!
“The future of learning is empowering learners to freely explore who they are as individuals and equipping them with the tools to pursue a better world for themselves and those around them. We cannot teach them to master every piece of new technology that is released, but we can provide them with the ability to celebrate their own and everyone else’s humanity and collaborate on building a better future together.”
